Set player to use the multilingual OSD

There is a simple solution for a multilanguage OSD Menu..

  1. In MTKRemaker you’ll see 2 sets of root menu (8032-Bank2) In the first one there is only English, but the second one has multilang. support.. Unfortunately, 5960 uses the first one.
  2. If you change the pointer of OSD Language selection with the second root menu OSD Lang. pointer, then you have multilang. support..

Firmware based on wireless2104 v40w4.1pb:

Download: DVP5960_12-volume.zip [1.06mb] 5960/12 or 5960/05 Codepage 1254

  • based on official fw 12.06.36.40
  • Multi Lingual OSD
  • ARM code is modified to load all subtitles regardless of the file name. First sub is always the original one
  • Remote codes for REPEAT and REPEAT AB are changed with VOLUME+ and VOLUME-
  • skin from v37w4
  • smaller osd font
  • new subtitle fonts (CP1254, white, transparent background)
  • new subtitle position fixed
  • selecting divx subtitle type from menu (standard, small, large)
  • long filenames support in file browser (no jpg preview)
known bugs:
  • file browser mess because of id3 tags
  • Subs don’t auto start, they must be selected with the subtitle key – Original subtitle is loaded twice..

There are also some changes.. Fonts are for CP1254, someone might have to change it for there own use.

The following section is only applicable to the firmwares with packed bitstream support.

Note: you may lose some of the improvements from the latest Philips firmware. Not sure which of these are based in the ARM code, maybe you will let me know...

Current list of features which are lost with this firmware:

  • Fix for Multichannel output via coaxial out when connected to HDMI
